His name is EKU

July 1 - August 30

His name is Eku is short drama about male trauma. In the African community, Traditional gender roles often portray men as strong and dominant. Cultural beliefs in many African societies might not recognize men as possible victims of sexual violence. This has led to a prevalent lack of understanding, empathy and support towards male survivors. The movie provides an opportunity to educate the audience about the realities of male sexual abuse, its impact on individuals and communities, and the importance of addressing this issue. It provides a safe space to hold conversations that are considered taboo in the community.
