Key Services

Weekly food distributions, including both raw ingredients and cooked meals, cater to the nutritional needs of seniors. Collaborations with local establishments, such as Tembo Grill restaurant, ensure culturally appropriate meals for African immigrants and refugees seniors. The program also educates seniors about balanced diets and meal preparation to promote long-term health.
Assistance is provided to seniors in navigating social determinants of health barriers including healthcare, housing support, and finding social services tailored to their needs. This includes connecting seniors to Medicare, Medicaid, and other financial aid programs designed to address healthcare costs.
Recognizing the mental health challenges of isolation, UHAI organizes regular social events and workshops to keep seniors active and engaged, fostering a supportive community.
